Thomas L. James (Managing Director) joined Ripe Time’s Board of Directors in December 2003 and became the company’s Managing Director in July 2004. In addition to his work with Ripe Time, he is currently President of Phoebus Optoelectronics, a start-up nanotechnology company based in Brooklyn. He was the Associate Producer of Friends & Family, an independent film released in 2003 by Regent Entertainment. He was previously a Senior Associate at Dean & Company, a business strategy consulting firm in Washington, D.C., where he worked in mergers & acquisitions and private equity, analyzing investment opportunities for a multi-billion dollar New York-based investment fund. He holds a B.A. from Carleton College and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Harvard University.
