EDUCATION

Ripe Time Studio trains actors, writers and directors in movement, voice, performance, clown, and the creation of new work.  Our classes are taught by artists affiliated with the company who have diverse international experience.

The Studio is offered each spring as a weekend intensive.  Students in our Studio workshops are invited and encouraged to assist in the development of our performance works. Limited scholarships are available.  Check back here for upcoming dates this year!  Below is a sampling of past offerings:

ENSEMBLE IN ACTION
Led by Rachel Dickstein. A workshop exploring ensemble performance through character, theme, composition, and movement.  Guided by improvisational techniques used in Ripe Time’s rehearsal process, participants develop short pieces in which ensemble action builds the world of a story and text work and physical choices build specific characters in that story.

BUILDING BLOCKS: Material for the Construction of Theatrical Art
Led by Emily Morse. A course that delves into the dramaturgical and creative process of adapting non-dramatic source material for the stage.  The class explores theatrical language, various approaches to constructing narrative, and methods of posing questions that support the creative process

TRANSFORMATION: Training the Solo and Ensemble Body
Led by Jill A. Samuels. A rigorous workshop designed for performers, dancers, singers, and directors. The course investigates precise techniques with which to follow the path of impulse to the creation of physical and vocal imagery.
